Service to the World

Our members and friends are active in helping the people of Salisbury and beyond.

A small yet dedicated group gathers in the church kitchen every first Wednesday to prepare a meal, then takes it to Joseph House and serves 75-100+ people a nutritious and filling lunch.

We also collected food and other staples on a regular basis, and serve Advent and Lenten soup lunches to collect funds to send the sisters.

 Beaver Run Elementary School
St. Alban's participates in a Faith/School partnership with Beaver Run Elementary School through Salisbury's Promise. Salisbury’s Promise is a branch of America’s Promise, which embodies Five Promises to help youth become productive citizens: Caring Adults, Healthy Start and Future, Safe Places, Marketable Skills and Opportunities to Serve.

The congregation collects Box Tops for Education as well as Labels for Education, and processes them as well as those collected by the school.  In this past this has amounted to $1000-1500 per school year for the PTA. Others have served as mentors and classroom aides.  One member has assisted with ESL students on a weekly basis for several years.

The congregation is invited to contribute to Episcopal Relief &Development, an organization that provides funding for relief and development world wide.  ERD has provided significant support in the Caribbean and on the East Coast following Hurricane Sandy.  Please go to their website to donate online.

Several parishioners volunteer with Habitat, an organization that builds and renovates houses to provide affordable housing for families in Salisbury. The latest build was dedicated on December 13, 2014.

The playground that was built by the community through the efforts of the Layton family requires routine maintenance. Volunteers from St. Alban's join that effort two to three times a year.
